Child care option offered to Camp Jefferson campers
LAKE HOPATCONG — Jefferson Township schools close on Wednesday, June 22, and most summer camps, including Camp Jefferson Summer Day Camp, will not open until Monday, June 27.
The Jefferson Township Recreation Department will offer families already planning on registering their child in the Camp Jefferson 2016 summer day camp program a quality child care option to ease their mind. Options for the two business days between the closing of Jefferson schools and the beginning of most summer day camps — including the Camp Jefferson Summer Day Camp — will be offered by the Recreation Department as a bonus option to its 2016 day camp families.
A special Pre-Summer Day Camp Child Care Program will be held on Thursday, June 23, and Friday, June 24, for campers who will be 3 years old by June 23, 2016, and toilet trained and for all campers entering pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade in September 2016. Children do not have to be residents of Jefferson Township to participate in these programs.
The price will be $40 per day or $75 for both days (summer day camp’s resident & sibling discounts do not apply) plus there is the option for before care from 7-9 a.m. at $5 per child per day, after care from 3 to 6 p.m. at $7.50 per child per day, or before and after care for $11.50 per child per day.
Enrolled children will be on site at the Camp Jefferson 96-acre facility located at 81 Weldon Road, Lake Hopatcong from 9-3 p.m. (and in before and/or after care if chosen) fully supervised by 2016 summer day camp counselors under the direct supervision of Camp Directors Terri McCarney and Terry Koontz. The children will enjoy organized field games, activities in the game room and other camp buildings, basketball, etc. and be grouped according to their grade. They must bring their own lunch and snacks; and normal day camp morning bus transportation, sports clinics, electives, off-site trips, and canteen purchases will not be offered for these two days of child care fun.
Parents wanting to enroll their child for the two-day child care option on June 23 and 24 must register and make full payment for their child for one or both days of the special child care option and at least one-week of the summer day camp eight-week program no later than the Camp’s Early Bird deadline of Wednesday, April 20, by 5:30 p.m.
