Sophie G. Yurchak(nee Glica), 94 years old, died peacefully at St. Camillus Care and Rehab Center in Stamford, Conn., on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016. Born to John and Catherine Glica in Stamford, Conn., she had lived in Hardyston Twp., N.J., for many years and most recently moved back to Norwalk, Conn., then ultimately to Stamford, Conn.

Sophie enjoyed her family, was a dedicated homemaker, and a doting grandmother. She was a parishioner of St. Jude the Apostle RC Church, Hamburg, N.J. She enjoyed sewing, reading, playing pinochle, cooking and watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and NCIS.

Sophie was predeceased by her husband, Andrew J. Yurchak (2001), 2 sons, Andrew (1951) and Phillip (1961), 3 brothers, Stanley, Matthew and Edward and a sister, Mary and was the devoted mother of James A. Yurchak of N.J., and Brenda Koroscil and her husband, Ron, of Norwalk, Conn. Loving grandmother of Melissa, Michael, William, James and Megan. Cherished by 4 great-grandchildren.
