Attorney to participate in Girl Scout conference

Jessica Jansyn, Esq., associate at Laddey, Clark & Ryan, will participate in the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey’s Speed Networking Workshop, part of their “ToGetHerThere” Girl Career Conference, on Feb. 26.

The “ToGetHerThere” Girl Career Conference is designed to help young girls discover what careers will best fit them in the future. The Speed Networking Workshop is for eighth grade and high school girls. The evening session will give girls the opportunity to network with professionals, ask questions in an abbreviated amount of time and exchange business cards. The purpose of this workshop is to introduce older girls to a variety of careers and professional experiences and discuss the steps necessary to build a strong future. It also gives them very powerful and practical experience in networking.

“I am extremely honored to participate in this workshop,” Jansyn said. “This seminar will allow these girls to connect one-on-one with leaders in all different fields. I am looking forward to discussing a career in law with these young women.”

Jansyn earned her J.D. at Seton Hall University School of Law. She was a member of the Seton Hall Law review and worked for two semesters at the law clinics at Seton Hall. Prior to that she received a B.A. degree in English and Mathematics from Centenary College in Hackettstown, N.J. After her undergraduate career, Jansyn spent a year working in Fuzhou, China, teaching at a private women’s college.

Jansyn's practice focuses on Employment and Labor law as well as Estates and Trusts planning, administration and litigation. She has represented both employers and employees on a variety of employment matters including discrimination, whistle-blowing, severance agreements, non-compete agreements and contract claims. She also has experience in employee handbook review and drafting and is a regular speaker at the LCR Employment Series seminars. She has represented individuals in both challenging and defending estate administrations as well as guardianship proceedings. She has experience assisting clients in preparing wills, powers of attorney and living will documents as well as more complex tax planning trusts.

Jansyn is a member of the board at Ginnie’s House and Sussex County Children’s Advocacy Center.
