DAR plans awards luncheon in Lafayette

    The Chinckewunksa Chapter of the Daughters of the American revolution will honor four county residents at its annual awards luncheon on Saturday, Feb. 27, at th Lafayette House.

    The Community Service award recipient is Karen McGregor of the Literacy Volunteers of N.J., Sussex County. McGregor is an educator, teacher, trainer, tutor and leader. She is an active and dedicated volunteer, sharing her leadership skills throughout the county and the state.

    Renee Ferguson will receive the Historic Preservation award for her tireless dedication to preserving history. She is especially active in the Sparta Historical Society.

    The History Award will be presented to MARCH, Montague Association for Restoration of Community History. Rich and Beth Jones will accept the honor for the group.

    Chinkchewunska Chapter will present the Ramsey-Cooper Award to someone that supports the efforts of the Chapter or the museum that they own, Elias Van Bunshooten museum on Route 23 in Wantage. This year that award goes to the Tempe Wick N.J. Questers.
