St. Clare's to provide Ogdensburg emergency service

Ogdensburg received assurances from St. Clare's Hospital that the borough will have daytime emergency services, Council President George Hutnick announced on Monday.

Ogdensburg First Aid Squad President Alan Arduini has met and secured daytime emergency services from the hospital, he said.

The hospital assured him their Franklin/Hardyston team will also cover Ogdensburg as needed during the day.

'Week of Kindness' proclamation

In conjunction with the Ogdensburg School, the council unanimously proclaimed the last week in January, “Week of Kindness” in Ogdensburg.

Superintendent and Councilman David Astor said the school has taken up the challenge to do random acts of kindness throughout the week. The charge also includes informing and involving the community.

Winter Fest update
Councilwoman Rachel Slater said the Winter Fest is still a go for Saturday, Jan. 30, from 6-8 p.m., at Heater's Pond.

The government is bringing back an old Ogdensburg tradition with a celebratory bonfire, hot chocolate, hot dogs, and ice skating, weather permitting.
