The Friends of High Point State Park will sponsor their annual Winter Festival, a celebration of snow and ice at High Point State Park, Saturday, Jan. 30, from noon to 3 pm, in the High Point State Park Interpretive Center.

Activities will include bird feeder and winter themed crafts for children, storytime, sing-a-long, hot cocoa and cookies by the fire, guided hike, snowshoeing and ice fishing demonstrations (conditions permitting), and more.

Weather expert Nick Stefano will stop by for a winter weather talk. New Jersey Sled Dog Club will present an education program and demonstration.

The event is free, but a suggested donation of $5 per family is appreciated. Snow date is Sunday, Jan. 31. Visit the Friends of High Point State Park blog for more information, www.friendshighpointstatepark.blogspot.com.
