Two arrests made in Franklin robbery

Franklin police have made two arrests on Monday, Jan. 18, after an investigation of a reported theft at Weis Supermarkets on Friday, Dec. 18.

Franklin police allege that three individuals — David Barretto, 32, and Jacklyn M. Barretto, 30, both of Franklin; and Matt Bergen, 26, of Stockholm — took more than $1,000 worth of over-the-counter medication from the store without paying for it.

Police said they entered the store, concealed and left the store with the medication.

Jacklyn Barretto and David Barretto were served with a complaint warrant in the Hudson County Jail on Jan. 18, where they are currently being held on unrelated charges. Bail was set at $20,000 with no 10 percent option for the theft charge in Franklin for each of them.

Matthew Bergen is currently wanted. Bail is set at $20,000 with no 10 percent option. If anyone sees Matthew Bergen they are asked to contact their local law enforcement agency immediately.
