Superintendent David Astor presented the district's PAARC test scores on Tuesday, Jan. 5, saying the district met or exceeded grade-level expectations in English Language Arts/Literacy.

Astor also pointed out in each of the grade levels for the 2015 PAARC tests in Math the district met or exceeded grade level expectations compared to the percentages state-wide.

Over the next few months the data will be examined to address areas of concern. In addition, a plan will be implemented to address the areas that can be improved.

Astor told the Board of Education a central goal will be to think about the types of support that the district's educators need. Astor said the staff and the Board of Education can research what types of professional learning opportunities are available to the teachers, and what types of instructional resources are needed.

Astor said
“We believe that doing this work well will likely take us many months as we will engage teachers, supervisors, principals and others,” Astor said.

Astor's PAARC test presentation can be found on the Ogdensburg website which is www.obboe.org.
