    Matthew Decker of Lafayette was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

    Decker is pursuing a degree in Fire Protection at Eastern Kentucky University.

    Brooke Van Veen of Oak Ridge is one of more than 100 students who performed with a music ensemble at Lebanon Valley College this fall.

    Van Veen, a graduate of Jefferson Township High School, is pursuing a bachelor of music and bachelor of arts in audio and music production and music and was a member of the Chamber Orchestra.

    She also was named to the dean's list for the fall 2015 semester, maintaining a GPA of at least 3.4.

    Megan Good of Franklin, a Communication Studies major at Belmont University, performed recently in the "Christmas at Belmont" concert at Nashville's Schermerhorn Symphony Center, a performance which was taped live and will air nationally this holiday season on PBS.

    This year's edition of "Christmas at Belmont" features the University Symphony Orchestra, Belmont Strings, University Singers, Belmont Chorale, Percussion Ensemble, Musical Theatre, Jazz Band, Jazzmin, Southbound and Company, as well as mass choirs. The performance includes both classic holiday music such as "Carol of the Bells" and "Little Drummer Boy," and festive seasonal songs such as "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?," "I'll Be Home for Christmas" and "Deck the Halls," to name a few.

    Chelsea Marinaro of Hamburg graduated from York College of Pennsylvania on Dec. 22.

    She earned a bachelor of science degree in Nursing.

    Aileen Koch of Franklin has been named to the dean's list at Lebanon Valley College.

    Koch is is pursuing a bachelor of science and bachelor of arts in music education and music at The Valley. Dean's list students must maintain a GPA of at least 3.4 out of 4.0.

    Vivianna Samite of Oak Ridge is one of 28 Cedar Crest College students involved in Alpha Epsilon Kappa, Cedar Crest's chapter of Alpha Phi Omega the national community service fraternity.

    Students belonging to the fraternity spend at least 15 hours in the community each semester helping those in need. They also participate in leadership and fellowship activities, on and off campus.

    Rachel Mlynarczyk of Stockholm was named to the dean's list at Lasell College for the fall 2015 semester.

    She is a fashioni and retail merchandising major.

    To achieve the dean's list, each student must be full-time carrying 12 or more graded credits for the semester with a grade point average of 3.5 or above.

    Victoria King of Oak Ridge, Mark Hendry of Stockholm and Amanda Carver of Oak Ridge were named to the dean's list at the University of Vermont.

    To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

    King is a psychological science major, Hendry is a film and television studies major and Carver is a professional nursing major.
