    Nov. 16Jaime Rhodes, 37, of Sparta pleaded guilty to third-degree theft.

    Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 29.

    While employed at the Lenape Lodge in Andover the defendant admitted to taking cash from the customers, keeping it and not ringing up the purchases.

    Gerald Nystrand, 49, of Sparta pleaded guilty to the third-degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.

    Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 14.

    He admitted to selling heroin in Newton on Sept. 14.

    David Burgoon, 63, of Sussex Borough pleaded guilty to third-degree crime of unlawful transport of an assault rifle.

    Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 29.

    He admitted to transporting an assault rifle in Wantage sometime in December 2010.

    Bret T. Jennings, 22, of Franklin pleaded guilty to the third-degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.

    Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 29.

    He admitted to selling heroin to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force in Newton on Aug. 17.

    Nov. 17Briana Barton, 30, of Franklin pleaded guilty to the fourth-degree crime of theft.

    Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 18.

    She admitted to being a participant in a theft in Hamburg Borough on March 25. The matter was investigated by Hamburg Police Officer J. Sokolowski.

    Nov. 20Michael A. Moro, 19, of Highland Lakes and Aldo Moro, 26, of Union were sentenced to two 5-year terms in state prison, each subject to NERA on two second-degree robberies they committed together in February 2014.

    They were ordered to pay restitution of $1,600 and they received jail credit for the time already served and were ordered to pay the mandatory minimum fines and fees.

    Both brothers pleaded guilty on Sept. 9, 2015, to 2 counts of second-degree Robbery. Both brothers admitted to robbing the Market Street Deli in Vernon Township and the Shell Gas Station in Wayne Township in February of 2014.

    These matters were investigated by the Vernon Township Police Department, Sussex County Prosecutors Office, Wayne Township Police Department, and the Passaic County Prosecutors Office.

    Justin T. Fastiggi, 30, of Hopatcong was sentenced to 2 years of probation, 90 days of home detention, and must participate in complete intensive outpatient treatment. he was ordered to opay total fines and penalties of $155 and restitution of $500.

    He pleaded guilty on July 6, 2015, to fourth-degree unlawful taking of a means of conveyance. In pleading guilty, Fastiggi admitted to taking a vehicle, which he did not have permission to drive and crashing the car in Paterson on Feb. 3, 2015.

    The matter was investigated by Patrolman A. Cirri of the Hopatcong Borough Police Department.
