The 2015 Milk Bowl took place at Ungerman Field on Saturday, Nov. 14. The annual charity football event featured several youth teams from the area. Football players from the pee wee to eighth grade level participated. Kittatinny, Vernon and Lenape Valley along with Sparta football teams provided several hours of gridiron action.

Sparta Little League Football is the longest-running youth football league in New Jersey, started in 1957. Started two years later, the Milk Bowl is a series of games between Sparta youth football teams and visiting teams. The Milk Bowl organization's annual fundraising was created to help a local family.

This year $6200 was raised and donated to the Monaghan family of Sparta. The money will help with medical bills. Brian Monaghan was diagnosed with lung cancer several months ago. His wife Siobhan and their children accepted a check and attended the event. Brian is also the coach of the Sparta Lite youth football team.
