Jefferson plans Village Marketplace

    Jefferson Township Fire Company No. 1’s firehouse at 162 Milton Road will be transformed into The Village Marketplace with 18 arts, crafts, and merchandise vendors during The Jefferson Arts Committee’s 10th annual Christmas in the Village event on Saturday, Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    Located in the historically designated Village of Milton in the Milton/Oak Ridge section of Jefferson Township, admission is free as is parking.

    Vendors will include Baby Cakes (crocheted hats), Carol’s Fantasy Rocks, Comfort & Joy (crocheted blankets, wraps, dog sweaters), Custom Woodwork, Crafts by Kim, Glass Crafts, Hobby & Home Handbags & Soaps, J&C Scarfs Galore & More, “K” Cup Angels, Mary Kay, Mrs. P and CC (designer baskets, wreaths, swags), Pat’s Fabric Creations (felt ornaments), Premier Designs Jewelry, The Pepper Project (watercolor paintings and pen & ink drawings), Thirty-One Gifts (totes, thermals, wallets), Tupperware, Twisted Iron Worxs (horseshoe arts), and WP Stuff (stationery, Christmas ornaments). The Jefferson Arts Committee will have an information table where they will sell 50/50 raffle tickets.

    The tentative schedule for entertainment and demonstrations at the fire house will be a Community Carol Sing with the Jefferson Township Girl Scouts at 10:30 a.m., followed by demonstrations by the Oak Ridge Martial Arts Academy students at 11:45 a.m.. At 12:30 p.m., there will be a fire safety demonstration featuring Sparky the Fire Dog and Jefferson Township Fire Official Vinnie Corsaro, and then Diane’s Dance Academy 23 will perform at 1:30 p.m. Additional entertainment to be announced. At 4 p.m., the Jefferson Arts Committee’s 50/50 raffle winning ticket will be drawn.

    Members of the Fire Company’s Ladies Auxiliary will be selling chili, hot dogs, donuts, and refreshments from their firehouse kitchen throughout the day.
