The members of the Wallkill Valley Regional High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America recently completed the 2015 chapter’s Community Service Project.

This community service project, chaired by FBLA member Sara Miceli, focused on recognizing and honoring local law enforcement, including the school’s sending districts of Hamburg, Hardyston, Franklin, and Ogdensburg as well as the Sussex County Sheriff’s Dept. and New Jersey state police.

Nov. 4 was designated as “Support Our Local Law Enforcement Day.”

The mayors of the sending districts were contacted; and the FBLA members received their full support. Each municipal building was provided a “Support Our Local Law Enforcement” sign. Additional signs were posted at the high school and various points within the Wallkill Valley community. Elementary students from the four districts wrote thank you notes to the officers; they were presented with a decorative “thank you” wreath.

Additionally, lunch was provided for the six law enforcement headquarters; lunch was delivered by FBLA members Sara Miceli, Alexa Batelli, Scott Mueller, Kyle McKenna, Katie Bertoa, Vinny Limon, and Sydney Fackrell. The Wallkill Valley Regional High School administration and staff fully supported this community service project by wearing blue on November 4; each staff member received a blue ribbon from FBLA.
