HARDYSTON — At noon on Saturday the township’s mayor, town council, and guest dignitaries honored Hardyston’s veterans with a ceremony that included Mayor Carl Miller reading the names of each of the service members included on the Hardyston Honor Walk.

Guest speakers included Master of Ceremonies and Navy veteran Marty Schweighgardt, State Sen. Steve Oroho, Sussex County Freeholder Director Phil Crabb, and retired U.S. Marine Corps Lt Colonel Daniel A. Colfax, Esq.

According to Miller, “We are committed to recognizing those who served our country, and honoring the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our freedom.”

About 75 residents attended the ceremonies that included music performed by members of the Wallkill Valley High School band.
