Giordano beats Rowett in Franklin

FRANKLIN — Republican Councilman Nicholas Giordano won the mayor's seat defeating Democrat Paricia Rowett by 140 votes in Tuesday's general election.

Giordano defeated incumbent Mayor Paul Crowley in the Republican primary.

Republicans Gilbert Snyder and Michael Rathbun were elected to the Common Council unopposed. Snyder is an incumbent.

School BoardsRonald Neal f. Cliff Graham and Kevin Blondina were elected to Franklin seats on the school board. Incumbent Dawn Murrin was finished fourth and was not re-elected. Marianne Koch Nichols and Edward M. Card were elected to Hardyston seats on the school board. Michael Restel finished third.

In Ogdensburg, Susan Dolan and Brendan Donegan were elected to the Board of Education. Nina Sutera lost by 30 votes.

Sussex County FreeholderFredon Township Committeeman Carl Lazzaro was elected to the Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders, along with Sussex Borough Mayor Jonathan M. Rose, who received the most votes with 13,294.
