Hardyston supports students' project

The Hardyston Township Council aggreed to support a project by the Wallkill Valley Regional High School Future Business Leaders of America.

Mayor Carl Miller told the council on Oct. 28, he received a letter from Sara Miceli, chairperson from the school FBLA's effort to formally establish Nov. 4 as Support Our Local Law Enforcement Day in Sussex County.

Council members discusses how they have the highest regard, admiration and gratitude for the law enforcement officers’ commitment, loyalty, courage and service they provide within the county, but more closely to the officers who serve within Hardyston Township’s own police department.

Residents were encouraged to take part by wearing a blue ribbon or clothing to support law enforcement, send a card of support to the local police department or state agency, share a positive story about a positive law enforcement event on social media, and if you see a police officer thank him.

Miceli said in her letter that as part of the Community Service Project FBLA planned to will be deliver lunch to officers on Nov. 4 in the area of Franklin, Hardyston, Ogdensburg, Hamburg. In addition lunch was delivered to the New Jersey state police and the Sussex County Sheriff’s Dept.
