    Oct. 2Kristofer Baglio, 35, of Stanhope was sentenced to 2 years of probation, was was ordered to pay fines and penalties of $280 and submit a DNA sample at his expense.

    He pleaded guilty on May 18 to fourth-degree criminal trespass, the disorderly persons offense of resisting arrest and a violation of probation.

    On Feb. 5, in Hopatcong, Baglio was found inside a home without the owner’s consent or knowledge and resisted being handcuffed when police officers attempted to arrest him at the residence. He was serving a probationary term at the time of the incident. The matter was investigated by Patrolman R. Sadowski of the Hopatcong Borough Police Department.

    Gina Thornton, 28, of Newton was sentenced to 2 years of probation, was ordered to serve 180 days in jail was given credit for 127 days served. She must pay total fines and penalties of $205 and submit a DNA sample at her expense. Her driving privileges were suspended for 6 months.

    She pleaded guilty on Aug. 3 to fourth-degree defrauding a drug test and to a violation of probation. On May 28, while serving a probationary term for a conviction for burglary and theft, Thornton was providing a urine sample to the Probation Department and was found to be attempting to use another person’s urine for the test. The matter was investigated by Sheriff’s Officer W. Lunger.

    Phillip B. Brown, 25, of Brick Township was sentenced to 3 years of probation on condition he complete current recovery program, maintain employment, pay $810 in restitution to the victims and $780 in court fines and fees.

    He pleaded guilty on Aug. 10, to six counts of third-degree burglary.

    Over a period of two days in August 2013, the defendant broke into several vehicles in Montague and Wantage taking various items from the vehicles.

    Kayla Talmadge, 22, of Hamburg was sentenced to third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, three counts of fourth-degree shoplifting and a violation of probation.

    During the time period from November 2014 through May 2015 the defendant shoplifted various items from the Franklin Walmart. She also shoplifted from Sussex Rite Aid. When the state police went to speak with her regarding the Rite Aid shoplifting, she was found to be in possession of heroin. Due to committing these crimes, she violated a probation term she had been serving.

    Oct. 5David Benton, 30, of Hamburg pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, hindering apprehension and conspiracy to commit shoplifting, all crimes of the third degree.

    Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 18.

    During an investigation, the state police went to the home of a co-defendant where Benton was found to be hiding in a bedroom closet and in possession of heroin.

    Oct. 13Nicholas Vicari, 35, of Newton pleaded guilty to the third-degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.

    Sentencin is scheduled for Dec. 4.

    He admitted to selling heroin, on July 7, 2014, to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force.

    Gilberto Lara, 27, of Newark pleaded guilty to the third-degree crime of possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance.

    Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 4.

    He admitted that on June 10, he drove from Paterson to Franklin in an attempt to sell heroin to an individual cooperating with the Franklin Police Dept.

    Geniene Davis, 41, of Stanhope pleaded guilty to the third-degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.

    Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 29.

    She admitted to selling heroin out of her apartment in Stanhope to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force.

    Daniel Gurerrini, 31, of Newton pleaded guilty to the third-degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.

    Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 11.

    He admitted to selling heroin on Feb. 23 in the borough of Franklin to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force.

    Michael F. Stewart, 37, of New Rochelle, N.Y., pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license, a fourth-degree crime, driving while intoxicated (third offense), and failure to possess insurance identification card.

    Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 11.

    The defendant admitted to driving while under the influence in Franklin on Aug. 14. Officers discovered the defendant’s license was suspended at the time for a second offense of driving while intoxicated. Defendant also provided officers with an expired insurance card.
