Skylands Stadium to host Comedy Night

AUGUSTA — Skylands Stadium, North Jersey’s newest event venue and home to the Sussex County Miners professional baseball team, will host the first annual Comedy Night at the Skylands Stadium Event Center on Friday, Oct. 16. The three-act evening of fun and laughs will star some of the area’s biggest comics, including Paul Bond, Davin and Joseph Anthony. For those who wish to partake, the evening starts with a dinner buffet at 7 pm, with the show at 9 pm

Paul Bond, the headliner, has appeared on Saturday Night Light, Comedy Central’s Roast of Denis Leary, NBC’s new show Basile, and on the Borgata stage in Atlantic City. He has also toured with comedian Jim Breuer.

Davin has performed on Comedy Central, at the Atlantis resort the Bahamas, on USO Tours, and on his hit national radio show Davin’s Den. Joseph Anthony was a finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, appeared on the Howard Stern Satellite Radio show, and has headlined at the Borgata.

The Event Center is at Skylands Stadium, 94 Championship Road, Augusta. Comedy lovers can come for a buffet dinner and the show, which is $45, or just the show, which is $25. The buffet dinner runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. A cash bar will open at 7 p.m, with last call at 10:45 p.m., offering craft beers, wine and cocktails. There will be no drink minimum and parking is free.

“Paul, Davin and Joseph are top-notch comedians who will provide a hilarious evening of great comedy and fun. Come on out and enjoy some belly laughs at the region’s newest event venue, the Skylands Event Center,” said Al Dorso, Sr., president of Skylands Stadium.

The buffet dinner will be provided by Krave Events, the stadium’s exclusive in-house caterer. The menu will feature Waldorf salad; pastrami Reuben sandwiches; sausage, fennel and pepper sliders; Korean barbeque chicken shish kebabs and rice; potato pierogis with caramelized onion butter; falafel with cucumber raita; vegetable dumplings with ginger soy glaze; and New York cheesecake bars. À la carte offerings will include cupcakes, cannolis, chocolate cheesecake pops, cookies, biscotti and chocolate pretzels, with espresso, café Americano, pumpkin coffee and chai tea.
