The Jefferson Township Recreation Department is sponsoring a school-based six-week ski/snowboard program at Mountain Creek in Vernon for Jefferson Township residents in grades 3 to 12 as well as for family and friends.

Registration is available online directly through Jefferson Township’s module on the Mountain Creek website, and these special prices expire on Nov. 23.

Jefferson Township students 7 to 18 years old participating in the multi-trip program (taking the Rec Department bus) may choose either a ski or snowboard package; and all first-time participants must take the free lessons.

A multi-trip program lift ticket including six lessons — one for each night the student skis or snowboards on the Jefferson Rec club dates — is available for $137.99 or choose a Youth Club Member All-Access season pass available for $229.99 until Oct. 31 and then $249.99 until November 23.

An optional equipment rental package which includes a free Helmet Rental and Rental Damage Insurance is $124.99 and valid on the club group nights. All skiers and snowboarders must wear helmets to protect against head injury.

The Recreation Department offers busing for the six group trips to/from Mountain Creek at $85 per student attending the JT High School, Middle School, White Rock and Stanlick Elementary Schools; and students can bring their own equipment to their respective school the morning of each trip (not on the school bus!) and on the ski bus with them to Mountain Creek.

The Jefferson Township Middle School/High School program and the Arthur Stanlick/White Rock Elementary School program will run on Thursday evenings Jan. 7, 14, 21, 28 and Feb. 4 and 11. Make-up dates for JTHS, JTMS, and White Rock will be Feb. 25 and March 3, but make-up dates for Stanlick will be March 3 and 10. The bus leaves directly from JTMS/JTHS at dismissal at 2:35 p.m. and returns at approximately 9:30 p.m. and directly from the Stanlick School/White Rock School at dismissal at 3:20 p.m. and returns to each school parking lot at approximately 8:45 p.m.

Meal vouchers are available at $59.70 for a six-pack voucher offering choice of a burger, chicken fingers, or pizza with fries and a beverage or the Premium Meal Deal six-pack package at $71.70.

Mountain Creek and Jefferson Rec are also offering friends and family products to residents and non-residents 19+ years of age with an Adult All Access Season Pass at $339.99 until Oct. 31 and then $389.99 until Nov. 23 or an Adult Mid-Week Plus Season Pass at $299.99 until Oct. 31 and then $339.99 until Nov. 23. Non-participating (not taking Jefferson Rec buses) Youth All Access Season Passes (7 to 18 years old) are $249.99 until Oct. 31 and then $269.99 until Nov. 23.

For a complete registration packet with club-specific log-in and password for the Jefferson program, JTHS students should see math teacher Molly Sauer, JTMS students should see Secretary Judy Gurlacz in the main office, Stanlick students should see fourth-grade teacher Michelle Ziobro, and White Rock students should see third-grade teacher Christine Modula.
