Skylands Gallery plans October reception

WANTAGE — Skylands Gallery will host a reception for its Blazing Colors exhibition on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 5:30 until 9:30 p.m. at the gallery, 7 Boulder Hill Blvd.

The gallery will be exhibiting many new and exciting pieces in its expanded gallery space, hand-crafted pieces all from local artisans, pottery, jewelry and stained-glass. Dozens of new works are being created for this show and there will be more than 400 on exhibit.

There are several new members of the gallery who will be exhibiting. Besides hundreds of paintings and photographs the gallery will exhibit 3-dimensional pottery, glasswork, jewelry and metal-work as well

The gallery will honor recently deceased local artist, Janet Smith.

Debbie Fisher Palmarini will play at the reception and 10 percent of all sales from the evening will benefit the featured charity, Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice of Newton.
