ShopRite helps feed the hungry

The ShopRite of Franklin was provided musical entertainment by “The Big Boss Sausage and Mingo Lodge” for the final weekend of the 2015 Partners in Caring program, a hunger-fighting initiative to feed the hungry in communities served by ShopRite supermarkets.

RoNetco Supermarkets, operators of ShopRite stores in Sussex, Morris and Warren counties is a staunch supporter of the Partners in Caring program. In-store activities featuring face and pumpkin painting entertained the children, while “Mingo” also known as Charles Checkur of Sussex Borough amused shoppers with his witty and spirited songs. Mingo is the uncle of Jake Checkur, an associate at the Franklin ShopRite, who recruited his uncle to perform for the PIC campaign.

RoNetco Supermarkets is typically in the top 40 of ShopRite stores that meets or exceeds fund-raising goals in the annual PIC program.
