The Universal Health Fair was held recently on the Green in Newton.

More than 38 practitioners and vendors participated in the event to make it a big success. The entertainment was terrific. It featured the Gypsy Funk Squad and Belly Dancer Sai’da, Vinnie G. of the Castle Band and the acoustic elegance of the Mondays from Long Island.

Linda Mitchell and Debra Hollinrake, partners at the Tree of Heath Center, made everyone feel special and managed to take pictures with most of the participants. Friendly’s provided balloons, ice cream, wraps and smiles for all who stopped by.

The best vendor contest was won by author and speaker, Azuke Zuke. Azuke is from Nigeria and gave a moving talk about how proud, he is to be in the greatest country in the world. It was followed by a moving rendition of God Bless the USA by Vinnie G. The crowed joined in and waived small American Flags, and at that moment, were overflowing with patriotism.

Spray paint artist Kyle Geseing was creating whimsical paintings on canvas right before your eyes. Many watched as he used cans of spray paint and a lot of talent to create works of art.
