While each of their businesses is different — in industry, number of employees, and location — all of the Sussex County Chamber of Commerce’s 16 new members saw value in joining the Chamber, where they were welcomed at the organization’s recent Business to Business Breakfast.

Each saw up close some of the benefits the organization can offer as they were introduced to over 230 current members and announced by Chamber of Commerce President Tammie Horsfield.

"Introducing new members is my favorite part of our monthly breakfast meetings,” Horsfield said. “It’s exciting to meet a fresh group of people who want to do business in Sussex County.”

One of the Chamber’s primary membership values is found in the opportunity to build relationships through networking with other business people.

“We joined the Sussex County Chamber of Commerce for an opportunity to be a part of a thriving business community, to support others in their endeavors and to bring our services to a larger audience,” new member Mary Jean Ellis, Esq., said.

Beckie Sajban, the owner of Painted Grape, a craft and paint studio in Hamburg, also joined.

“As a small business owner and operator it’s overwhelming to put yourself out there," she said. "Joining the Chamber gives me the opportunity to get involved with my community and network with other business owners just like myself."

The Sussex County Chamber of Commerce office is located in the Chase Bank building at 120 Hampton House Road (Route 206N) in Newton and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Information about the Chamber is available at www.sussexcountychamber.org and by calling 973-579-1811.
