Magazine plans garden trip

AUGUSTA — DIG IT! Magazine, the Art & Science of East Coast Gardening, published by Frankford resident, Mary Jasch, will offer a day bus trip for guided tours of two unique and celebrated gardens in the Hudson Valley on Wednesday, Oct. 7.

Located in Millbrook, N.Y., the gardens include Innisfree Garden, considered one of the world’s 10 best stroll gardens merging Modernist ideas with traditional Chinese & Japanese design principles and Roseview Dressage, a former gravel quarry, now a working dressage and polo horse farm with garden rooms of formal Italianate style adorned with creatively placed elements of architectural or industrial salvage. Barns of modern construction have period woodwork, hardware, paint schemes and architectural details. There will be guided tours at both gardens.
