Mandie DiCarlo has had to deal with a rare form of cancer known as Grey Zone Lymphoma, beat it and now is dealing with it again, and a crowdfunding campaign has been started to help her and her family cope with medical expenses.

At 16 Mandie went to battle, showing endless strength and perseverance, and with the support of her doctors, peers, and family, she was able to win that war. This proud survivor from Wantage Township, went on to graduate from High Point Regional High School.

Now at the age of 18, her cancer came back with a vengeance and targeted her heart.

Margie and Fernando DiCarlo, her parents, work extremely hard to give their all to provide for their family. Mandie is the oldest of five children. Facing medical bills that are astronomical, it would take them several lifetimes to be able to catch up on all the expenses involved.

Crowdfunding is a new concept that is quickly gaining popularity. Essentially crowdfunding is a platform that allows projects to safely and securely gather funds for a cause as a whole from friends, family, and the community connecting social media. The minimum goal of $15,000 has been set for this peer to peer fundraising campaign. To make a donation of any amount to lend a Handie for Mandie visit www.gofundme.com/handieformandie.
