Franklin school gets new bike rack

FRANKLIN — This past spring, Franklin Borough School received a new bike rack.

The school nurse, Maria Garrera RN.MSN., applied for the Atlantic Healthy Schools grant so the school could replace its old rusted rack. In the grant, she emphasized that Franklin Borough is a walking district and she stressed the importance of exercise. As part of the celebration, Mrs. Garrera held a “bike safety week.”

Each day a helmet or lock was raffled to a child who answered a bike safety question correctly. The winners as pictured are: Angela Patti, Rickie Limon, Winston Hennings, Helen Slater, Morgan Houghtaling and Aiden Gagg.
