The Franklin-Sterling Gem & Mineral Show will celebrate its 59th year operating one of the largest gem and mineral shows in northern New Jersey on the weekend of Sept. 26 and 27 at the Franklin Elementary School on Washington Avenue.

    The show runs Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Featuring over 40 dealers, the show offers a variety of merchandise including gems, mineral specimens, jewelry, lapidary items, books, and mining artifacts. Inside, dealers fill the gymnasium and educational exhibits line the main corridor. Also located inside are fluorescent mineral dealers and spectacular displays of Franklin's world-famous fluorescent minerals.

Outside vendors are welcome to set up in the school's ball field an hour before show opening.

The show is a fundraiser sponsored by the Franklin Mineral Museum, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. In conjunction with the show, the museum will have a special sale of minerals and merchandise. The nonprofit, educational museum is located on Evans Street and is open for the public to visit, explore, and learn about the mining industry.
