Charles E. Fairhurst, Sr.

Charles E. Fairhurst Sr., 75, died Wednesday Sept. 9, 2015, at Newton Medical Center. Mr. Fairhurst, son of the late Edwin L. and Elizabeth (Bekes) Fairhurst was born Dec. 26, 1939, in Paterson, N.J. He had resided in Franklin before moving to Hardyston Twp. 31 years ago.

Mr. Fairhurst was a Foreman for Tri-County Asphalt in Lake Hopatcong for 26 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.

Mr. Fairhurst was predeceased by a son, Glenn Meyers and a sister, Leonia Fairhurst. He is survived by his wife, Carol (Mekeel) Fairhurst; children, Kenneth Meyers of Franklin, Eva Marie Aupperlee and her husband, Leonard, of Hardyston Twp., Maryjane Welker and her husband, William Sr., of Delray Beach, Fla., Charles Fairhurst Jr. and his wife, Carrie, of Hardyston Twp. and Amy Winters and her husband, Lane, of Hudson, Fla.; sisters, Elaine Allen and her husband, Jeff, of Princeton and Irene Fairhurst of Belgrade, Mont.; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters.

Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, at 11 a.m. at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St., Franklin. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Sussex.
