Mildred Roberts Czubak
Mildred Roberts Czubak age 88 passed away on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015 at Newton Memorial Hospital. Mildred was a lifetime resident of Sussex County and proud member of Immaculate Conception Church. She was born Oct. 29, 1926, in Franklin N.J., to Grace (McGai) McGlew and Edwin McGlew. She married Thomas Roberts July 6, 1947, and they raised their family of six children in Franklin N.J.
Mildred graduated from Franklin High school and Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC with a degree in nursing. She worked at various hospitals and nursing homes in Sussex County. Much of her career was devoted to care of the elderly. Mildred loved spending time with her family, gardening, playing pinochle, watching the N.Y. Giants, reading and laughing until she couldn’t see. She was an inspiration to her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 29 years, Thomas Roberts, and second husband of 10 years, Walter Czubak, her daughter, Alice Roberts Randazzo, and siblings, Edwin McGlew, Harold McGlew, Edna Beemer, and Grace Piniaha.
She is survived by her loving children, Thomas and his wife, Joyce of Londonderry Vt., Kathleen Claquin of Wantage, N.J., Mary Walsh and her husband, Brian, of Dover, Del., Susan Lucente and her husband, Fred, of St. Cloud, Fla., and Patricia Roberts of Charlotte, N.C. In addition, she is survived by 15 beloved grandchildren and 9 adored great-grandchildren, as well as her sister Alice Morris and her husband, Tom, of Hardyston, N.J., and her brother David McGlew and his wife Mattie of Bowie, Md.
Friends and relatives may visit on Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main Street, Franklin, N.J. And may gather at the funeral home on Thursday Sept. 10, at 9 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial service at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Franklin, committal interment service to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
