  • Mary Harrington of Franklin was a very active volunteer at the Ginnie's House table. The organization is the Sussex County Children's Advocacy Center and is located on High Street in Newton.

  • Dominic Rizzo of Rizzo's Reptiles moves through the crowd with a chinchilla that the keeps were able to touch.

  • Some of the children had a chance to go on hay rides with the big chicken.

  • A tractor pulled train with stuffed animals had the children in mind.

  • Sheriff's Officer John Swords and Sheriff's Assistant Hilary Manser offered a selection of goodies for the kids and their parents.

  • School Director Nicole DeLoi of Vernon's BumbleSong music school soon had all the young children singing and dancing. BumbleSong is Vernon's local licensed Music Together provider.

  • Every day is children's day at the state fair and 3-year-old Vanessa Trebilcock of Bushkill, Pa. even got a chance to be Queen of the Fair, even if only for a few minutes. Her favorite things at the fair were the animals and she got to see many different types, shapes, and sizes, thanks to her tour guide dad.

At The New Jersey State Fair/Sussex County Farm and Horse Show every day is children’s day, but on Tuesday, Aug. 4, special programs and events for the kids made the day even more special.

Special presentations were made including Rizzo’s Reptiles, songs and dancing with Vernon’s BumbleSong music school, bicycle stunt show and pump track, face painting and much more.
