Parisian Jazz coming to Highland Lakes

| 15 Aug 2014 | 01:01

The modern day ambassadors of classic Parisian swing are coming to Seckler Stage. Singer Tatiana Eva-Marie (who the Wall Street Journal recently hailed as one of the best young singers around) and the Avalon Jazz Band are bringing their repertoire of timeless American standards and French jazz songs to Highland Lakes on Sept. 12.

The Avalon Jazz Band's performances meld Parisian and Golden Age swing spirit, taking music lovers on a ride back in time to the Parisian zazouera of the 1930s and 1940s. With prodigious musicianship, inimitable French charm and a little bit of bohemian savoir faire, Eva-Marie and her band's Gypsy jazz soundfirst made famous by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelliwill transform Seckler Stage into Montparnasse.

Tickets for members-in-good standing and their guests may be purchased at the club office (and at the door on the evening of the show, if available) for $15. Bring a member card or member badge. Advance tickets for non-members ($20 cash-only) will go on sale Aug. 26 at the club office. Call 973-764-4366 for more information.
