Two deaths investigated in Jefferson

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Jefferson Township Police Chief Kevin Craig announce the investigation into the deaths of Alita Knott, 47 and Julian Knott, 45, husband and wife.

On July 6, at approximately 1:12 a.m. Jefferson Township Police Officers Tim Hecht and Dave Wroblewski responded to 12 Log Road in Jefferson Township, N.J. concerning a report of two unconscious adults. Upon their arrival they located the deceased victims within the home. The investigation did not reveal any evidence of outside intrusion into the home and there is no cause for concern to the community.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

Prosecutor Knapp and Chief Craig would like to thank the Jefferson Police department, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office CIS, and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime’s Unit and Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

No further information is expected to be released today on this matter.
