Thomas A. Russo, 25, of Sussex, New Jersey, was re-sentenced to six years in a New
Jersey State Prison with a parole ineligibility period of three years.
Russo was originally sentenced to seven years in a New Jersey State Prison with a parole ineligibility period of three years on June 22, 2012. The sentence was vacated by the Superior Court of New Jersey Appellate Division on Jan. 14 and remanded back to the trial judge for re-sentencing with the instruction that the trial judge could exercise his discretion in imposing the sentence.
Russo pleaded guilty on April 23, 2012 to the third-degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. In pleading guilty, Russo admitted to distributing ten bags of heroin to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force on Nov. 30, 2011.
June 2
Mark Cerveny, 24, of Highland Lakes, pleaded guilty to theft of movable property, a third-degree crime.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 18.
Cerveny admitted to taking more than $500 of property from another individual and pawning it. The matter was investigated by the Vernon Police Department.
Carly Gallo, 22, of Sparta, pleaded guilty to theft of movable property, a third-degree crime.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 15.
Gallo admitted that on April 7, she stole more than $500 worth of jewelry from a family friend in Hopatcong which she subsequently sold to a store in the Rockaway Mall.
The matter was investigated by the Hopatcong Police Department.

Vincent Springston, 46, of Highland Lakes, was sentenced to two years of probation and fines and penalties.
Springston admitted that on July 15, 2013, in the Township of Vernon he entered the Rite Aid and attempted to obtain Xanax with a forged prescription.
Tyler Lister, 27, of Newton, was sentenced to three years of probation, no involvement with drugs or alcohol, restitution to the victim and must pay fines and penalties.
Lister admitted that on Dec. 9, 2013, in the Town of Newton he entered a residence with the purpose to commit a crime therein.
Staci Peer, 22, of Hamburg, was sentenced to two years of probation, given 84 days credit for time served in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility, submit to a TASC evaluation, six months loss of driver license and must pay fines and penalties.
Peer admitted that on Jan. 3, in the Borough of Hamburg during a motor vehicle stop a law enforcement officer observed her hiding heroin in a cigarette case. She later admitted to possessing heroin.
Laura Strickland, 45, of Dingmans Ferry, PA, was sentenced to 475 days of time served in jail and $155 in fines.
She pleaded guilty on March 26 to the fourth degree crime of calling 911 without needing 911 services.
Kevin Fornarucci, 27, of Wayne, was sentenced to three years of probation, $530 in fines and $11,827.53 in restitution.
He pleaded guilty on April 14 to two counts of theft by deception and two counts of issuing bad checks.
Fornarucci admitted in February, 2013 to selling a motorcycle to The Cycle Exchange in Andover and a car to 123 Auto Sales in Branchville that did not belong to him and that he did so by misleading them as to his authority to sell the motorcycle and vehicle.
He also admitted to issuing bad checks in Sparta on May 22, 2013 and in Hardyston on
June 20, 2013 knowing that there was no money in the accounts at the time they were issued.
