  • Vernon Police Patrolman Emanuel Rivera offered passers by free literature and handgun locks. He also shared information about one of the township's most popular websites: www.facebook.com/vernonpolice, which now boasts some 8,501 Likes up from 7,030 this time last year.

The annual Vernon Day festival held at Maple Grange Park was once again well attended and was once again blessed with fine weather.

Mayor Victor Marotta and a few councilmen made the rounds at the festival but the mayor was reluctant to volunteer for the Vernon Little League dunk tank this year.
