Robin Zander of Cheap Trick 'Wants You to Want Him'

Robin Zander, lead vocalist and frontman of the seminal band "Cheap Trick," brings his energetic, infectious stage presence to the Newton Theatre on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 8 p.m.

Zander enlisted axe man Mark Hitt, who played guitar with The Tubes, John Bonham of Led Zeppelin, and Jack Bruce of Cream. He picked Larry Hobbs of The Juice to play bass, and long time friend and drummer Steve Luongo, who has performed or recorded with John Entwistle, The Who, members of AC/DC, Todd Rundgren and Leslie West/Mountain and more.

"We just want to go out and have a ball and who knows what special guests might just show up on stage," Zander says.

Zander has sold millions of albums and played large-scale venues the world over with "Cheap Trick," who’s top selling album “at Budokan” is a rock fan’s staple and hit songs include "I Want You To Want Me," "Surrender," "Dream Police" and "Ain’t That A Shame." The Robin Zander Band will perform Cheap Trick classics as well as music from his solo albums.
