Jefferson man killed in motorcycle crash

A Jefferson Township man was killed on Saturday when police said he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a utility pole.

Vernon Township Police said Michael Dougherty Jr., 24, ws found unconscious and unresponsive and died of his injuries at St. Anthony's Hospital in Warwick.

Police said he was traveling south on Canistear Road in Highland Lakes, south of Lookover Lane when he lost control of his 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle and struck a utility pole.
