Newton-Lenape Valley (NLV): 7-4-0.

Pequannock defeated Newton-Lenape Valley (NLV) in high school varsity hockey on Saturday, Jan. 11 with a final score of 9-5 at Skylands Ice World in Stockholm.

Newton-Lenape Valley got put away early in this one. The Pequannock Golden Panthers from Pompton Plains proved too much too early and too often for Newton-Lenape Valley. NLV coaches tried to staunch the bleeding by switching from freshman goalie Taylor Zink to senior Alex Palmiere but that did not help.

Their supporting cast had a hard time keeping Pequannock away from the NLV side of the ice.

Pequannock's Jake Tengi led his team in scoring with three goals.
