Dr. Brian and Friends will appear in the 2014 summer councert series on Friday, Aug. 29.

It will be the last concert of the season.

The show will be held in the Victorian gazebo located in the Jefferson Township Municipal Complex, 1033 Weldon Road, Lake Hopatcong, beginning at 7 p.m. and is sponsored by The Jefferson Arts Committee.

Dr. Brian and Friends play classic rock tunes in venues and private parties that include the works of the Eagles, Van Morrison, James Taylor, Cat Stevens, the Rolling Stones, CSN&Y, Bob Dylan, and more. Dr. Brian is Dr. Brian Voynick, DVM, owner and director of the American Animal Hospital in Randolph and appears on News 12 NJ’s “The Pet Stop."

Dr. Brian began performing in bands on keyboard in Union Catholic High School then went on to perform (as a Pre-Veterinary student) in pubs around Cook College/Rutgers University in the 1970s. Since then, he opened for "Chicago" in Orlando, Fla., then opened shortly after for "Hootie and the Blowfish" in Las Vegas eight years ago. For the past several years now, he’s been playing with N.J. musicians including his Clark Twp. kindergarten through eighth grade classmate Gary Oleyar. Then there’s Joe Bilotti, Professor of Music at CCM and guitarist of The Soft Parade (The Doors tribute band); Lenny Grasso, who's an accomplished bass player and sound engineer, who previously worked with the late Less Paul; Steve Schupsky, and James Mitchell on Tenor Sax.

Attendees are asked to bring a blanket or chair for their comfort; and non-alcoholic beverages, picnic dinners, and snacks are permitted on the grounds unless the concert is moved indoors due to weather conditions. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved indoors to the Jefferson Township High School auditorium, 1010 Weldon Road.
