William D. "Bill" Lewis, 82, passed away on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017. Bill was born on Feb. 14, 1934 in Franklin, N.J., to Clarence and Gladys (nee Decker) Lewis. Bill was a resident of Hamburg and Branchville before moving to Unionville, N.Y., 44 years ago.
He was employed for 30 years at Plastoid Corporation in Hamburg as a Quality Control Inspector and retired in 1990. After Bill’s retirement he worked part time as a auto parts delivery driver for NAPA Auto Parts in Sussex. Bill served in the National Guard of New Jersey and as Reserve of the United States Army as a Private First Class.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Beatrice (nee Crane) Lewis, and his son, Jeffrey Lewis, and his four stepdaughters, Brenda DeLaTorre, Linda Dare, Bonnie Worobok, and Nancy Conklin, and his nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a brother Ron Lewis, and his three sisters, Irene Cutler, Kathleen Phillips, and Nancy Lewis, and his many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends were received on Thursday January 19th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Ferguson Funeral Home 27 Third Street, Sussex, N.J., and were invited to attend services on Friday, Jan. 20 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, committal and interment services at North Hardyston Cemetery.
